The July CARA meeting will be on Tuesday, July 25 at 7:30 PM over Zoom. The topic will be NS Savannah and K3SAV presented by Ted Bauer, WA3AER. The NS Savannah was the first nuclear-powered merchant ship. It was built in the 1950s and operated until 1972. The ship now resides at a pier in Baltimore harbor. Ted will provide an overview of the ship, its origin, and its purpose. He will introduce the ship’s Amateur Radio club and its activities.
Starting this month, CARA meetings are moving to the fourth Tuesday of the month. This is in response to meeting room availability. We intend about half of the future meetings to be in-person at APL and the rest like this month, to be virtual over Zoom. Be sure to update your long-range schedules.
